for full clear-out of all personal items, decor, trash, etc.

What do the Bride & Groom need to provide?

decorations, dinner and dessert service ware (most caterers have this available), table linens (some caterers offer table coverings; all ranch tables must be covered/protected).

Sarah&JoshSneakPeeks(32of46).jpg

Can I choose my own caterer or bring my own food? Yes!

A Note About The Toasts: Alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises, but any SALE of alcohol is strictly prohibited. There can be NO payment, tipping or paid ticketing systems for alcohol, to align with our village ordinance, or else all security deposits are immediately forfeited. You are welcome to provide free alcohol for your tables. We've also had a bride and groom rent a small, portable bar with two bartenders providing an open (free) bar without tipping.

Wedding Rehearsal availability: As long as no event is booked the day prior to your wedding, TPL is available for a one hour rehearsal on your ceremony site the night prior to your wedding, either from 5-6pm or 6-7pm. For fully-booked weekends, wedding rehearsals are Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5-6pm or 6-7pm.

When can we decorate? Your decorating team is able to decorate during the rental timeframe to avoid conflicts with other events. You may decorate during your wedding rehearsal if it is the night before your wedding. For safety reasons, no decorating is allowed on the tent itself or its parts.

What can my guest do between the ceremony and reception? We have wagon rides available at an additional cost, mini-golf included in the ceremony+reception package, a wooded hiking trail loop that connects to our paths that offer a walk around the horse paddocks and over the covered bridge to the sheep paddocks.

Are there bathrooms onsite? Yes, there are two guest bathrooms attached to the Clubhouse/Bridal Chambers, and one private, indoor bathroom reserved for the bridal party. They will be stocked with toilet paper, soap and paper towels. If you would prefer to rent a portable restroom to be located right outside the tent, you are welcome to do so -- just let us know so we can help you with placement.

Where can guests park? For simplicity on your invitations, we recommend using our Menomonee Avenue address and letting them know that there is overflow parking available on Maple Road for those who would like to enjoy a scenic walk to the ceremony and reception. For your awareness, We have two parking areas available to wedding guests: a two-lane grass lot off of our Menomonee Avenue entrance, which is nearest to the ceremony and tent, and two paved parking lots off our Maple Road entrance, which involve a nice walk to the wedding site. The gravel road that leads to the covered bridge and horse paddocks is for ranch personnel use only (and is also closed for the safety of wagon rides that may take place there). Vendors must enter on Menomonee Avenue to park. Our Menomonee Avenue entrance address is N84W19100 Menomonee Ave, Menomonee Falls, WI, 53051.

Where should I tell my vendors to enter and park? All vendors should enter ONLY using our Menomonee Avenue address/entrance. There is no vehicle access allowed to get to the tent/reception from our Maple Road entrance, as the gravel roads around the horse paddocks and over the bridge are for ranch personnel, wagon rides and walking only on wedding days. We recommend allowing your photographer and DJ to park in the Bridal Chambers parking lot (this building is also known as The Clubhouse) on Menomonee Avenue, which has eighteen spots available, two of which are handicap spaces. For vendors that will be arriving later (for example, the caterers), they should enter on Menomonee Avenue only and park on the grass between the tent and grass parking lot.

Can my guests and I feed the animals or go inside the paddocks, even if familiar with horses and sheep? No, no one except TPL staff are permitted to touch, feed the animals or enter the paddocks or stables, for the safety of all people and animals and out of respect to our animal owners.

What time does the property open/close for us? 10:00 AM to Midnight on your wedding day

What if it rains? You are welcome to host your ceremony in the reception tent, as a rain contingency.

What if we aren't out on time? Please plan ahead with all the help needed to be out on time. We may have other events counting on it!

Any other special ground rules or info? DJs are allowed on the property; power is available at various locations on the property; DJs should have music downloaded in cases WiFi routing does not reach  tent; decibels are not allowed to exceed 100dB and amplified music must end by 11pm. No drinks on dance floor. Park in designated areas only. Due to the many fire hazards and our mission toward well-being, smoking is not allowed on the premises. For the safety of our horses and property, dogs are not allowed near the paddocks or stables or inside buildings or tent and must be cleaned up after. TPL is not liable for any incidents or injuries that are incurred while on our property.

A little bit about us

As you consider the decision of where to be married, you may be curious about who we are, outside of a wedding venue. The Promised Land Ranch & Preserve is a family-owned and operated natural sanctuary, with the mission of bringing health and wellness to the community in multiple ways. We believe that God created the rural countryside to be enjoyed by all, and, when we experience a hike, visit with a horse, take care of a sheep or tend organic crops, for example, we can enrich our lives and serve the community by offering these therapeutic activities, programs, events and more. In essence, our nonprofit seeks to fulfill the dreams of those disadvantaged, introducing them to animals, nature and outdoor activities.

Weddings are one way we can serve our community, connect with others and grow our mission of reaching those with special needs, PTSD and others who enjoy the land and participate here. Few things are more rewarding than seeing individuals with disabilities light up with joy and enthusiasm as they support various needs of a ranch and event venue. "Weddings at The Promised Land Ranch & Preserve help us reach those with disabilities," said TPL Founder Tim Winter, whose own younger brother with down-syndrome volunteers at the ranch often and loves the horses and annual Andy's Run & Walk event, in particular. TPL Co-founder Stuart Winter says it this way, "We are able to involve incredible people throughout the venue, helping them develop skills and build confidence in their abilities."

Host your wedding with us alongside horse and sheep paddocks and Wisconsin’s natural beauty landscape, and become part of something special. We're tucked away from the hustle and bustle, yet just minutes from town and thirty-minutes from Downtown Milwaukee.

Want to learn more before moving forward? Book a tour with us!
